Arrest Made In Jewelry Burglaries

The Vidalia Police Department has arrested a man suspected of breaking into two local jewelry stores. At around 6:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, officers were dispatched to KE Butler & Co. Jewelers, located at 1303B E 1st Street, in reference to a burglary.

cials also determined that Mitchell was responsible for the burglary at Brown’s Jewelry, located at 115 E. Meadows St., which occurred on February 23.
Mitchell was located and arrested by patrol officers at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 16. He is charged with two counts of smash and grab burglary and one count of providing a false name to a law enforcement officer.
