Busy Week For TCHS Soccer


The Toombs County High School Bulldogs soccer teams had three matches last week as they took on Savannah Country Day, Savannah Christian, and Claxton. The girls split their matches with the Savannah teams, while the boys fell in back-to-back games in PK's after both games went to overtime.
Girls vs. Country Day
The Lady Hornets had their way on Tuesday in Savannah. They took the early lead in the game and never looked back on their way to a 7-0 win over the Lady Bulldogs.
Boys vs. Country Day
In the boys matchup, the Bulldogs got a goal from Angel Morales in the first half, but they were kept in check in the second half. The Hornets found the back of the net in the second half of the game to tie it at 1-1.
That sent the game to overtime. Neither team could score in either of the two overtime periods, sending the game to penalty kicks. That is where Country Day edged out the Bulldogs to take the win.
Girls vs. Savannah
On Thursday, the Bulldogs welcomed Savannah Christian for their second region contest of the season. The Lady Bulldogs dominated from start to finish, securing an impressive 7-0 victory. Emma Wright led the scoring charge with four goals, while Rayne Sears added two and Emerson Powell chipped in one to round out the offensive effort.
Boys vs Savannah

fought battle that ended in heartbreak for Toombs. After regulation ended tied 1-1, neither team could find the back of the net in two overtime periods. The match went to penalty kicks, where Savannah Christian took the win over the Bulldogs.
Girls vs. Claxton On Friday, Toombs County hosted Claxton in a nonregion matchup. The Lady Bulldogs found themselves in another tight game, finishing tied 1-1 at the end of regulation. Unfortunately, Claxton came out on top in the penalty kick shootout.
Boys vs. Claxton
The Bulldog boys bounced back in a big way on Friday night. Led by goals from Juan Luna, Angel Morales, Alejandro Tinoco, and Aaron Tinoco. Toombs County earned a dominant 4-0 victory over Claxton, highlighted by solid team play and another strong defensive effort.
This week the Lady Bulldogs host St. Vincent's on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. Both teams will then head to Dodge County on Friday with games beginning at 5:30 p. m.
