Indians Defeat The Vikings

The Vidalia High School Indians baseball team defeated the Treutlen Vikings on Tuesday of last week, 8-0. It was the only game of the week for either team.
The Indians got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Ryan Brantley singled down the left field line, scoring two runs. Vidalia added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Ian Moye grounded out and Cayden Nance singled to center field, each scoring one run.
Dawson Stewart earned the win for the Indians. Stewart allowed one hit and zero runs over six innings, striking out nine and walking none. Ryan Brantley threw one inning of scoreless ball for Vidalia in relief, giving up one hit, striking out one and walking none. Ian Moye, Cayden Nance, and Ryan Brantley each drove in two runs for the Indians. Nance went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the team in hits.
VHS was back in action on Monday of this week at Southeast Bulloch after presstime. They will kick off Region play this week with a three-game series against Savannah Christian. The first game will be on Wednesday in Vidalia. They will play next on Thursday in Savannah, and then will be back in Vidalia on Friday. All three games begin at 5:45 p.m.
The Vikings were at Montgomery County on Tuesday after presstime. They will host the Eagles on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
