Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Celebrates New Lobby and Patient Wing at Optim Medical Center-Tattnall

Additional Projects Underscore
Ongoing Commitment to
Enhancing Community Healthcare.
Optim Medical Center- Tattnall, a physicianowned orthopedic specialty and critical access hospital recognized by U.S. News & World Report
as a “High Performing Hospital” in Spinal Fusion, Knee Replacement, and Hip Replacement surgeries, hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, March 13. Local community leaders and members of the Greater Tattnall Chamber joined hospital representatives to celebrate the transformation of the Reidsville campus — including an expanded lobby, an entirely new patient wing, and two newly completed operating rooms.
The lobby has been redesigned to elevate the patient experience, featuring spacious seating areas and efficient patient flow. The new patient wing offers modern, private rooms equipped with ADAcompliant bathrooms and comfortable amenities that support patient-centered care.
A key highlight of these completed expansions is the addition of two new, larger operating rooms. The expanded design allows surgical teams to navigate around larger tables, which is particularly beneficial for advanced spine surgeries and total hip replacements.
“Patient safety and quality outcomes are at the heart of every decision we make,” said David Flanders, CEO of Optim Medical Center-Tattnall. “Our U.S. News & World Report honors underscore our commitment to delivering exceptional care. By investing in new patient spaces, upgraded operating rooms, and behindthe- scenes improvements, we continue to strengthen our ability to serve this community at the highest level.”
The hospital is also adding a physician lounge and improved locker rooms for its medical staff, ensuring that all who work behind the scenes are equipped to deliver outstanding care. While patients may not see some of these essential improvements, they will benefit from the overall enhancements that support efficient and effective healthcare delivery.
