Wheeler Drops 2 To Wilcox

The Wheeler County High School Bulldog baseball team played two games against the Patriots of Wilcox County last week, dropping both of them by the run rule.They played the first game on Tuesday and the second on Friday.

Game 1

In the first game, the Bulldogs took the early lead with two runs in the top of the first inning. Those came off of hits from Kolt Bell and KJ Williams.

But Wilcox tied the game in the bottom of the first with two runs, and then took the lead in the second inning as they plated six more. That put them on top, 8-2. Wilcox added two more runs in the third inning, and then closed the game out in the fifth with two more runs to take the win, 12-2.

Game 2

In the second game in Alamo on Friday, Wilcox jumped ahead with eight runs in the top of the first inning. They scored two more in the second, two more in the third, and three in the fourth on the way to a 15-0 win over the Bulldogs.

Wheeler is now 3-6 on the season and they are 3-3 in Region play. This week they hosted Tattnall County on Monday and were at Bacon County on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Friday at home against Bacon County at 5:30 p.m.
