Indian Soccer Splits Games

The Vidalia High School soccer teams faced off with Woodville-Tompkins and Tattnall County last week. Both the boys and the girls split their games. The Lady Indians are now 4-6 on the season, and they are1-1 in Region play. The boys are 4-7 on the year and are 2-0 in the Region.

Girls vs. Woodville

It was a defensive battle between the Lady Indians and the Lady Wolverines as they faced off in Savannah on Tuesday of last week.

There was no score in the first half of the game, nor in the second half, which sent the game into overtime. And again, neither team was able to score across both overtime periods, which sent the game to penalty kicks to decide a winner.

During the PK's, Vidalia got goals from Mary Hadden and Ella Mosley, but it was not enough as Woodville scored three times to take the win over VHS.

Boys vs. Woodville

The boys took the win over the Wolverines as they got two goals from Owen Jude while holding Woodville to just one. The VHS goals were assisted by Liam Mac-Gregor and Charles Gillenwater.

VHS came away with a 2-1 win over Woodville.

Girls vs. Tattnall

The Lady Indians rolled to a win over the Lady Warriors on Thursday one the road. VHS scored two goals in the first half of the game, with Tattnall picking up a goal. That put VHS on top 2-1 at the end of the first half. In the second half of the game, the Indians scored two more goals on their way to a 4-1 win over the Lady Warriors.

VHS got those goals from Hadden, Giselle Garcia, and Lilly Menard.

Boys vs. Tattnall

In the boys game, the Warriors jumped out with three goals in the first half of the game to take a big lead over the Indians at halftime, 3-0.

In the second half of the game, the Indians tried to make a comeback as they got goals from Jude and Lake Wright, but they fell short, 3-2.

This week the Lady Indians hosted St. Vincent's on Tuesday after presstime. Both teams will be back in action on Thursday at Savannah Country Day with the first game kicking off at 5:00 p.m.
