Toombs County High School Principal Marissa Morris has been named the Georgia Technology Student Association (TSA) Administrator of the Year, an honor recognizing her outstanding contributions to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education and her unwavering support for Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) programs.

Morris was recently recognized at the Georgia TSA State Conference in Athens on March 13. The award acknowledged Morris’s leadership in fostering an environment where students and teachers thrive in Engineering and Technology Pathway Courses.

“[Her] leadership, support, and involvement have made it possible for students to build bright futures long after they move beyond their schools,” Georgia TSA Associate Director Angela Quarles remarked. “[Her] dedication and leadership continue to make a profound impact on the lives of students and educators alike.”

Morris was nominated for the award by Toombs County High School Engineering Instructor Jess Bush, who praised her dedication to student success and her commitment to providing opportunities for growth both inside and outside the classroom. “Mrs. Morris goes above and beyond to ensure the success of every student, creating a culture of support, motivation, and academic excellence,” he commented in his nomination.

'I'm incredibly honored to be named Georgia TSA Administrator of the Year, and I am truly humbled that Mr. Jess Bush, our Engineering and Technology instructor and TSA Advisor, nominated me for this award,” Morris emphasized. “This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of our students, staff, and community at Toombs County High School. Our commitment to innovation and excellence continues to drive us as we help students 'Create Their Legacy' every day.'

Toombs County Schools Superintendent Barry Waller also spoke on the achievement, saying, “Mrs. Morris continues to support our staff and students in their pursuit of excellence. Whether in the classroom, engineering lab, or community, she supports Toombs County High School and our district well. This award is a testament to her unwavering commitment to TCHS leading our community in preparing our students for success.'
