Last Wednesday at Wheeler County High School, Jordan Bridges signed his letter of intent to play football for Andrew College in Cuthbert, GA. Bridges had other offers from other schools for football and for baseball but Andrew felt like the best place for him.

Bridges stated, “Andrew just was the right fit for me. It was closer to home, and it is a small town like I'm used to. Just felt like it was good for me. I had the chance to play baseball as well, but football was what I wanted to play, getting to come out and compete, and hit, football was what I was wanting.

“I have had a blast here at Wheeler, just loved it here, and I have to thank Coach Smith and Coach Drew, my mom and my dad, just everyone that has helped me along the way to see this day come.”

Julie Bridges, mother, added, “We are very proud of Jordan. Football has always been his sport, and so happy to see him get this chance. We are going to get up there to see as many games as possible, and just so happy for him. I am just excited, emotional, just a big day for him. I really like the school, the coaches, I really think this is going to be a good thing for him.”

Wheeler Head Coach Thomas Smith said, “Jordan has been a big contributor for us over his years. He is one of those culture guys, just has helped us develop the type of program that we want and is an example of the type of guys we want on our team. He was one of the main guys we ran behind, and he did a terrific job as we were the leading rushing team in the state in single A. Just excited about the future for him, he is a great kid, great player, and we wish him the best.”
