Heritage Drops 3 To CCA

The Vidalia Heritage Academy Eagles baseball team played a threegame series against Citizens Christian Academy last week. It was a tough week for VHA as they dropped all three games to the Patriots.

Game 1

They played the first game on Tuesday in Vidalia. Each team scored a run in the first inning, but in the top of the second CCA plated five runs to take a 6-1 lead. VHA added a run in the bottom of the second to close it to 6-2.

CCA scored two more in the fifth inning, but VHA answered in the bottom of the frame to make the score 8-4. But three more runs by CCA in the sixth and three more in the seventh gave the Patriots a 14-4 win over the Eagles.

Game 2

The two teams met on Thursday for a double header in Douglas. In the first game of the day, CCA jumped out with two runs in the bottom of the first inning to take the early lead. They added a run in the fourth inning and two more in the fifth as they took the win over VHA, 5-0.

Game 3

The final game of the series was a close one with the Eagles falling by just one run. Neither team scored a run over the first four innings of the game, but in the bottom of the fifth inning, CCA plated the lone run of the game to take a 1-0 lead.

VHA tried but couldn't get anything going over the last two innings as the Eagles fell, 1-0.

This week VHA is off for spring break.
