The Montgomery County Public Library will host an open house for the public from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, in celebration of the library’s 80th year anniversary.
Though the Montgomery County Public Library was first opened in 1965, the library’s current facility was not built until 2000. Since then, the location has served as the center of literacy and learning within the community, offering insightful programs for youth and quiet working spaces for adults.
During the open house, the Montgomery County Schools Literacy Bus will be available for the public to tour, and the library will inform citizens about the many programs and services which the facility has to offer.
The Montgomery County Public Library is a branch of the Ohoopee Regional Library System and is located at 215 South Railroad Ave. in Mount Vernon. For more information on the library or this event, call (912) 583-2780.
