RTCA Rolls To 3 Wins
It was a good week for the Robert Toombs Christian Academy Crusader baseball team as they won three games. They picked up two wins over Coastal Home School, and won a game over First Preparatory Christian Academy. vs. Coastal
On Tuesday of last week, the Crusaders were at Coastal Home School. Brittan Tabor came through big for RTCA as he drove in six RBIs in the game to lead the Crusaders.
Both teams scored a run in the first inning of the game, but in the top of the second inning, RTCA blew the game open with six runs. Anderson Moore drove in a run to give RTCA a 2-1 lead, an error added a run, and then Tabor came through with a 2-RBI triple to push the lead to 5-1. Banks Hopkins added an RBI single as did Riley Hinson, as RTCA built up a 7-1 lead.
RTCA plated four more in the third inning with Blake Durden and Tabor driving in runs. RTCA held to take the win by the run rule, 11-2. vs. FPCA
Up next was FPCA at home on Wednesday. Gage Brantley had the big bat for RTCA in this game as he came through with 5 RBIs.
RTCA jumped out to take the lead in the bottom of the first inning. Tabor drove in two runs and Brantley added an RBI to take a 3-0 lead. In the second inning, Brody Randall and Brantley added to the RTCA lead, putting the Crusaders up 5- 0.
RTCA added four more runs in the bottom half of the third inning to push their lead to 10-0. Those runs came off of hits by Durden, Randall, Tabor and Brantley. FPCA finally got on the board in the top of the fourth inning, but RTCA scored four more runs on the way to a 14-1, run rule win. vs. Coastal
RTCA was back at Coastal on Thursday for their final game of the week. RTCA again ran away with the win. Hopkins threw a no hitter over five innings as RTCA took the win by the run rule.
RTCA got on the board in the top of the second inning with one run, and then added three more in the third inning. But in the fourth, they broke it open with eight more runs. The first four of those runs all came off of errors, and then Tabor, Brantley, and Bray Williamson all drove in runs to push the lead to 12-0.
Coastal plated one run in the bottom of the fifth inning, but RTCA took the game by the run rule, 12-1.
This week RTCA is off for spring break.
