Wheeler County Elementary Students Study Tall Tales

Students in Mrs. Goins’ 4th Grade ELA classes at Wheeler County Elementary School recently studied tall tales in class. The students read a variety of tall tales including Paul Bunyon, Pecos Bill, Sally Ann Thunder Ann, John Henry, and Davy Crockett.

The students completed an in-class project about their favorite tall tale character. They had to tell the setting of their story, exaggerations, and their favorite part. They also had a take home project about tall tales. They had to create a missing person’s poster for their favorite character. They were to include five key facts about their tall tale character. Everyone enjoyed reading these larger than life stories.
