Wheeler County Literary Team Excels at GHSA State Literary Meet

Three students from the Wheeler County High School Literary Team competed at the GHSA State Literary Meet in Milledgeville on March 22, 2025. These students earned the opportunity to compete at the State Meet by placing first in their respective competitions at the Region Meet earlier in March.
Jakob Tarpley competed in Boys Solo, performing a pair of Italian songs: “Alma del Core” and “Pur dicesti, o bocca bella.” Jakob, was named STATE CHAMPION in Boys Solo.
Ariana Durden competed in Literary Analysis and placed second in the state.
Roxanne Evans gave an outstanding performance in Humorous Literary Interpretation. This was Roxy’s first time competing in Literary, and she did an excellent job preparing and performing.
Wheeler County teachers said, “We are incredibly proud of all our literary team members and thank them for their hard work. Thank you for representing our school and community so well! Congratulations to everyone!”
