Indians Run Well At SEB

The Vidalia High School Indians track & field teams ended their Spring Break with a very competitive track meet at Southeast Bulloch High School. While VHS did not field a full squad, they had a very successful day of competitions. The boys team placed 2nd just behind Benedictine, and the girls placed 3rd behind South Effingham and Liberty County.
Jaydyn Young had an amazing day as he swept the 110m hurdles and the 300m hurdles with first place finishes. Defending State Champion Takaiyah Bacon broke her own school record in the triple jump for the second time this season with a jump of 38'8” securing the win in this event. Along with her finish in the triple jump, Bacon also took 3rd place in the long jump. AJ Thomas came in 2nd in the high jump. J'Miyah Hunt took 3rd place in both the 100m and the 200m dashes. And Dashia Ford was 3rd in the 100m hurdles and came in 4th in the triple jump.
The girls 4x100m relay team of Kayden Love, Dashia Ford, Zaviyana Walton, and J'Miyah Hunt took 4th place with a season PR. The girls 4x200m team of Kayden Love, Dashia Ford, Zaviyana Walton, and J'Miyah Hunt finished in 3rd place, and the girls 4x400m team of Takaiyah Bacon, Jesse Wynn, Aidyn Driggers, and Zaviyana Walton was 3rd with a season PR.
The boys 4x100m relay team of Jaydyn Young, Adrian Newkirk, AJ Mc-Clendon, and Tyler McKinney finished in 3rd place. The boys 4x200m team of Jaydyn Young, Adrian Newkirk, Chandler Stokes, and Tyler Mckinney took 2nd place, and the 4x400m team of Adrian Newkirk, Jordan Johnson, Kashun Coney, and Cash Driggers finihsed in 1st place.
Coach Mandy Godbee said, “As always these athletes showed up to compete. I am so proud of their sacrifices and commitment to getting better everyday. They have champion mindsets and will continue to excel through the remainder of the season.”
The next event for the Indians is this Friday at home at 4:00 p.m.
