TCHS Track Runs In Baxley

The Toombs County High School track & field teams turned in another strong performance on March 25, at the Appling County Invitational, where top-tier competition from across the state gathered for a day of elite competition. The Track Dawgs didn’t disappoint, with several athletes posting personal records and bringing home top finishes.
Girls
Shaylin Stringer led the way for the TCHS girls with a 1st place finish in both the shot put and the discus. Taylor Bland was 2nd in the 100m hurdles, 3rd in the 300m hurdles, and she was 4th in the 400m dash with a new PR. Karah Marsh finished in 3rd place in the discus. Dashanti Bodie came in 4th place in the 200m dash and was 5th in the 100m dash. And Shania Brown was 4th in the 300m hurdles and was 5th in the 200m dash.
Boys
Cole Russell led the way with a 1st place finish in the 1,600m run, and he was 4th in the 800m with a new PR. Gavin Fletcher came in 1st place in the high jump and was 4th in the shot put. Don Mincey took 1st place in the 100m dash. Brandon Stevens came in 2nd in the 110m hurdles with a new PR, was 4th in the 300m hurdles, and was 4th in the triple jump. Hayden Roy finished 3rd in the discus, Justice Wilds was 4th in the high jump, Amari Eason came in 4th in the long jump with a new PR, Hayden Bullard was 5th in the shot put, and Lukas Young was 5th in the 1,600m run.
TCHS was back at Appling County on Tuesday of this week after presstime. They will travel to compete at Vidalia High School on Friday, April 11, at 4:00 p. m.
