The Downtown Vidalia Association will host their annual Vidalia Onion Festival Chalk Walk on Wednesday, April 23.

During the Chalk Walk, area high school students decorate the sidewalks with art drawn with chalk to beautify the streets for the festival. These drawings are then judged by an anonymous panel who selected first, second, and third prize winners.

“This is a great opportunity to let students showcase their artistic abilities and to take part in the Onion Festival,” Downtown Vidalia Association Director Tonya Parker commented. “It’s something I look forward to every year – it’s always fun to see what new ideas they come up with.”

The Chalk Walk will begin at 9 a.m. in the downtown area. Community members are invited to come out and talk with students and witness their creativity. For more information, call (912) 5378033.
