RTCA Falls To Frederica
The Robert Toombs Christian Academy Crusaders baseball team dropped two games to Frederica Academy last week. RTCA was at Frederica on Monday of last week and then hosted the Knights on Thursday.
Game 1
The Knights scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning to take the early lead over the Crusaders. They added three more runs in the second inning to extend their lead to 5-0. RTCA plated a run in the fourth inning and then got a solo home run from Brittan Tabor in the top of the fifth inning to close the lead to 5-2, but three more runs from Frederica in the bottom of the fifth gave them an 8-2 lead.
The Knights held on to take the win by that score.
Game 2
RTCA got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the first inning off of an error, but that was the only run the Crusaders scored in the game. The Knights picked up three runs in the third inning to take the lead, 3-1. They added a run in the fifth inning and three more in the sixth on the way to a 7-1 victory.
RTCA is now 7-5 on the season, and they are 4-2 in Region play. This week RTCA has a threegame Region series with Citizens Christian Academy. They played the first game on Monday and the second on Tuesday, both after presstime. They will play the final game of the series on Thursday at home at 4:00 p.m.
