Treutlen County Receives Over $9.5 Million In Hurricane Recovery Funds

the Public Assistance and Recovery Division at the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA), presented the check totaling $9,553,691.06 during a recent visit to the county. The funds will reimburse the county for storm debris removal already completed in the aftermath of the storm. County Commission Chairman Phil Jennings praised the team behind the recovery efforts, stating, “I’m incredibly proud of the hard work by Treutlen County Emergency Management Agency Director Justin McNure and his team, along with our dedicated county office staff, for their tireless efforts in securing grants and relief from our state and federal partners. Because of their commitment, our residents won’t bear the burden of the massive cleanup costs from a storm I hope we never experience again.”
County officials extended their gratitude to both GEMA and FEMA for their continued partnership and support in Treutlen County’s recovery.
