Suspect in Motel Shooting Captured in Bulloch County
A Vidalia man who was wanted in connection with a May 22 shooting at a local motel has been captured by Bulloch County authorities.
Christopher Lee Powell, 36, was arrested on May 26 at a Statesboro motel and returned to Toombs County to face multiple felony charges.

Inn on First Street during which Damion Bellamy, 24, sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Bellamy was transported by helicopter to Memorial Health in Savannah, where he was listed in stable condition, according to a report issue last week.
Details of the shooting have not been disclosed as police continue to investigate, said Vidalia Police Commissioner Brian Scott.
Powell, who is being held in the Toombs County Jail, has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during certain crimes, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery.
