Mr. Bill Lentz

Mr. Bill E. Lentz, age 83, of Lyons, died on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, in Meadows Health in Vidalia after a brief illness. Mr. Lentz was a native of Little Rock, AR, where he lived until he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served for 4 years. He then spent several years in the photography field and later was a right of way agent for numerous utility companies for more than 40 years. He worked with Bigham Cable Construction in Columbus until his retirement in 2015 before moving to Lyons in 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Lentz and Vera Dodson Lentz. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Carol Ann Davis Lentz; 4 children, William Earl Lentz and wife Mary of Vancleave, MS, John Thomas Lentz of Atlanta, V. Kathleen Lentz Humphrey and husband Jeff of St. Petersburg, FL, and Thomas Charles Peek of Spartanburg, SC; 1 sister, Patsy Lentz Davis and husband Hap of Pascagoula, MS; and 2 grandchildren, Daniel Allen Lentz and Diana Marie Lentz. A graveside funeral service was held on Saturday, August 22, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., in Lakeview Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Shareon Womack and Dustin Tapley officiating.
