RTCA MS Track Takes Title
The Robert Toombs Christian Academy Middle School track teams finished off their seasons recently by bringing home the Championship trophy from the fiveteam ribbon meet held at Bulloch Academy in Statesboro on April 16. Other teams participating were Pinewood Christian, Bulloch Academy, Screven Christian, and Heritage Christian of Brunswick. The girls edged out Pinewood by eight points, scoring a total of 131 to Pinewood’s 123.
Girls
Kylie Acosta took 1st in the high jump, 2nd in the 100m dash, and 2nd in the 200m dash. Railee Thomas was 1st in the shot put, 2nd in the 400m dash, and was 3rd in the discus. And Mekhia Bell was 1st in the 100m and 200m dashes.
Meredith Durden was 3rd in the 1,600m run, and was 3rd in the 800m run. Kailyn Brantley was 3rd in the 100m hurdles, and was 5th in the long jump. Kylie Whitney was 3rd in the shot put. Marli Dismuke was 4th in the 100m hurdles and was 4th in the 400m dash. Hannah Williams was 5th in the 800m run, and Mandy Johnson was 6th in the discus.
The relay team of Acosta, Bell, Dismuke, and Thomas was 1st in the 4x100m and was 2nd in the 4x400m. The team of Brantley, Durden, Newton, and Williams was 4th in the 4x100m and was 5th in the 4x400m.
Boys
TJ Stanley took 1st in the shot put, the 100m dash, and the 200m dash. Cayden Nance was 1st in the 100m hurdles and 2nd in the 200m dash. Easton Drew was 1st in the 800m run. Cameron Hinson was 1st in the discus. Gage Brantley was 2nd in the shot put and was 2nd in the discus.
Justin Bowers was 2nd in the 100m hurdles and was 5th in the 400m dash. Jayden Toole took 3rd in the 400m dash, 3rd in the high jump, and was 3rd in the long jump. Clayton Williams finished 3rd in the 100m dash, Britton Tabor was 4th in the high jump, and Hayden Meeks was 6th in the 800m run.
The 4x100m relay team of Nance, Powell, Stanley, and Toole finished in 1st place. The team of Bowers, Drew, Varnes, and Williams was 4th. The 4x400m team of Bowers, Nance, Stanely, and Toole took 1st place with the team of Holton, Meeks, Tabor, and Varnes finished 4th.
