CONTEXT
A compilation of quotations on a variety of issues by national, state and regional writers, well-known personalities, just plain everyday people and from various publications collected by the editors of THE ADVANCE.
Quotes for our Times:
Leah Barkoukis, online features editor at Townhall.com: Psaki: White House 'respectfully disagrees' with leaders of Biden's faith on fetal tissue research.
While Democrats cheered the administration's decision to lift the ban [on using fetal tissue from elective abortions for research]earlier this month, Tom McClusky, president of March for Life Action, blasted the move.
“This type of experimental research is a gross violation of human dignity and is not where the majority of Americans want their tax dollars being spent,' he said in a statement. 'The government has no business creating a marketplace for aborted baby body parts.”
Betsy McCaughey, Ph.D, former Lt. Governor of New York State and author of Beating Obamacare: Science says if you're vaccinated, enjoy life again.
Johns Hopkins' Dr. Marty Makary faults the CDC's 'counter-science track record of being late and wrong.'
Even less scientific than the six-foot rule is the agency's guidance for the fully vaccinated. The agency tells them to 'continue to wear masks, maintain physical distance and practice other prevention measures when visiting with unvaccinated people.'
That guidance eliminates a major incentive for getting the shots and will slow America's recovery. Infections among the vaccinated do occur, but rarely, and serious illness is even rarer. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines reduce the risk of developing COVID by 90 to 95%, compared with being unvaccinated. U.S. data show the risk of getting infected after these vaccines is a minuscule 0.008%.
Matt Vespa, Senior Editor at Townhall.com:
So, that's how Biden intends to tax the middle class.
Well, Kelly Johnston wrote an op-ed for InsideSources to explain one tax hike that will wreck the middle class and noted how retirement accounts and pensions could be next: 'Whose money do the Democrats think we’re talking about? They seem to think all money is the government’s, and they’re letting you keep some of it. They clearly believe that they can spend it better than you. It doesn’t take long before that extends into other private property. Your pensions and IRAs may be next.'
Reagan McCarthy, Web Editor at Townhall. com: Poll: Overwhelming majority still supports voter identification laws.
The poll also found that Republicans are concerned about voter integrity, while Democrats fear for “voter suppression.”
Far more Republicans are extremely or very concerned about voter fraud (81 percent) than they are about voter suppression (46 percent), while significantly more Democrats are troubled about suppression (78 percent) than fraud (39 percent). In fact, voter fraud is one of the top concerns among Republicans — and comes in dead last among Democrats.
There is no real evidence that suppression of voters occurs, but Democrats have led a massive misinformation campaign about Georgia’s newly-signed voting reform bill. Activists claim that implementing voter identification requirements is equal to suppressing voters of color.
