Mr. Glendel Ray Cheek, age 80, of Glenwood, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 3, 2021, at Memorial

Health in Savannah. Mr. Cheek was born on August 22, 1940, in Smithv i l l e, Mississippi, to the late Glen and Mamie Towery Cheek. He was a retired correctional officer and was a U.S. Army Veteran.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Cheek; one son, Ricky Williams (Denise) of Glenwood; one daughter, Tanya Barnes (Heath) of Cedar Crossing; four grandchildren, Dustin Williams, Chris Williams, Hunter Davis, and Bryson Davis; three great-grandchildren, Destin Williams, Ashanti Williams, and Dustin Williams, Jr.

The family received friends on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Roberts–Stewart Funeral Home, Glenwood Chapel.

Funeral service was held on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Rogers officiating. Graveside service and interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Dustin Williams, Chris Williams, Hunter Davis, Bryson Davis, Dustin Williams, Jr., and Buddy Tootle.
