LETTER TO THE EDITOR… Congratulations to New Superior Court Judge

To the Editor: On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to extend congratulations to Toombs County State Court Judge Tommy J. Smith of Lyons on his appointment by Gov. Brian Kemp to serve as a Superior Court Judge for the Middle Judicial Circuit, covering Candler, Emanuel, Jefferson, Toombs and Washington counties.

Judge Smith will be well served in his new position by his 23 years in the legal profession, including 12 years of service as a State Court Judge and additional experience as a Solicitor General and Municipal Court Judge.

By accepting this appointment, Judge Smith demonstrates his continued commitment to serving the public and the justice system. We wish him well in this new capacity of judicial leadership.
