Mrs. Betty Jo Guthrie Parrish, ….

Mrs. Betty Jo Guthrie Parrish, age 75, of Lyons, died on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at her residence after an extended illness.

Mrs. Parrish was born in Athens, AL, moved to Georgia as a child, and later moved to Toombs County in the late 1960s. She worked at Oxford in Vidalia and Lyons for 16 years. She was a Baptist by faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Parrish; 1 son, Johnny McClung; her parents, Calvin Maple Guthrie and Irene Reece Guthrie; and 5 siblings, W.D. Guthrie, Dennie Guthrie, Larry Guthrie, Tony Guthrie and Harold Guthrie.

Her family includes 1 daughter, Sherry Willis and fiancé Craig Smith of Vidalia; 1 brother, Curtis Guthrie of Dublin; 2 sisters, Ann Hutcheson of Vidalia and Bobbie Nowling of Dublin; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

A private burial was held on Monday at the Lyons City Cemetery.
