3 Losses For Lady Eagles
The Lady Eagles softball team of Montgomery County High School played three games last week and fell in all three of them. They lost to Telfair County on Tuesday at home, and then dropped both games of a double header to Johnson County on Wednesday in Wrightsville.
Vs. Telfair
It was all Telfair on Tuesday in Mt. Vernon. The Lady Trojans picked up one run in the top of the first inning, and then opened the game up with six more in the second inning. They added three in the third and then closed out the game with seven more in the fourth inning.
That gave Telfair the win, 17-0 over the Eagles.
Vs. Johnson Game 1 In the first game of the double header, the Eagles took the lead in the top of the first inning with two runs, but Johnson went ahead with six in the bottom of the second inning. Johnson added two more runs in the sixth inning on the way to an 8-2 win over MCHS.
Vs. Johnson Game 2
In the second game Johnson scored six runs while keeping the Eagles off the board. That gave Johnson a double header sweep of MCHS. The Lady Eagles are now 5-8 on the season. This week they were at Hawkinsville on Monday and at Treutlen on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Thursday at home at 5:00 p.m. against Hawkinsville in their next to last game of the regular season. Their final game will be next Tuesday at Dublin at 5:30 p.m.
