Mrs. Mildred Roland

Mrs. Mildred Hughes Roland, age 75, of Vidalia, died on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at The Oaks-Bethany Nursing Home of Vidalia after a sudden illness.

Mrs. Roland was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton (Carl) Roland; her parents, Daniel Hughes and Ell Bell Johnson Hughes; 3 sisters and their spouses, Nellie and Cecil Faircloth, Dorothy and Bill Orlang, and Lois and Jack Meeks; her brothers, Leon, Eddie, Herman and Dannie Hughes; 1 sister- in-law, Martha Hughes; and 1 brother-in-law, Freddie Gay.

Survivors include her sisters, Betty Williams (LC) of Ailey and Grace Hixon (Tommie); her brothers, Ronnie Hughes (Susan) and Marvin Hughes (Judy), all of Augusta; sisters-in-law, Kay Hughes of Melrose, FL, Maxine Hughes and Susie Hughes of Augusta; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on January 8, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., at the Oak Park Cemetery in Oak Park.

Low Country Cremation and Burial is in charge of arrangements.
