Mr. George Edward
Morgan, age 67, of Soperton, died on Friday,
February 18, 2022, at his home. Mr. Morgan was born in Wheeler County, the middle child of 9 born to the late L.E. Morgan and Virginia Henry Morgan. He grew up in Glenwood and started working in the logging industry with and for his father. He continued to work as a Logger and an “over the road” Truck Driver his entire life, working for Doug Story Logging, Locke Logging, K Bell Trucking and Chambers Logging. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Ogle.
Survivors include his wife, Tina Lynn Morgan, Soperton; children, Pam Currie (Ben), Rentz, Melvin Morgan (Robin), Dexter, Steven Williams (Crystal), Soperton, Brandon Cooper, Soperton, Christy Williams ( Jeremy), Scotland, Linda Horne (Daniel), Glenwood; grandson Jake Williams; siblings Jesse Morgan (Gracie), Darlington, SC, Ann Outler (Wayne), Sandersville, Pixie Bright (Johnny), Charlotte, NC, Charles Morgan (Gloria), Glenwood, Tammy Stengel (Cary), Darlington, SC, Tony Morgan (Smokie), Glenwood, Danny Morgan (Kay), Alamo; 18 grandchildren, 3 greatgrandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews; Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home by his brother, Charles Morgan and his nephew Darrell Lanier officiating. Burial followed in Edge Memorial Cemetery, Glenwood.
Pallbearers were Evan Lawrence, Dale Lanier, Jeremy Phelps, Dillon Williams, Jeremy Williams Jr. and Ben Currie.
