Mrs. Lois Foskey Brantley, age 81, died on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Meadows Regional Hospital in Vidalia.
Mrs. Brantley was born in Treutlen County, grew up in the Scott and Adrian area, and attended school in Scott and Treutlen County. She worked at the Soperton Shirt Factory for a short time before joining the Cafeteria Staff at the Treutlen County Elementary School, where she worked for approximately 30 years until retiring in the late 2000s. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Donald Brantley; her parents, John Marvin Foskey and Lizzie Mae Norris Foskey; 1 son, Donald Tracey Brantley; and siblings, Rufus Foskey, Leodias Evans, Johnnie Merle Glover, Earl Foskey, Edward Foskey, Tommy Foskey and Georgia Mae
Wilson.
Survivors include her children, Kenny Brantley, Reidsville, Lois Leverne Milton (Michael), Soperton, Howard Clint Brantley (Misty), Soperton, and Jonathan Brantley, Warner Robins; 2 sisters, Cleo Collins, Tarrytown, and Clara Mae Foskey, Soperton; grandchildren, Autumn Anderson (Matthew), Austin Stewart (Courtney), Michaela Holmes ( Jarrod), Michael Milton, Jr. (Carli), Dylan McDuffie (Taralee), Taylor Brantley, Jenna Brantley, Montana Brantley, Howard Logan Brantley, Rylan Brantley, Mary Elizabeth “Lizzie Mae” Brantley, Nathan Brantley, and Katelyn Brantley; 1 great-granddaughter, Vayda Coxwell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at Blackville Church of God, with Rev. Kendall Ward officiating. Interment followed in Red Bluff Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tyler Quintero, Marty Collins, Tony Collins, Austin Stewart, Michael Milton, Jr., Dylan McDuffie, Michael Giles and Stacy Collins.
Honorary pallbearers were Miles Quintero, Nathan Brantley, Howard Logan Brantley and Rylan Brantley.
Sammons Funeral Home in Soperton was in charge of arrangements.
