Heritage Splits Games
The Eagles baseball team of Vidalia Heritage Academy split their games last week as they took on Trinity Christian at home on Tuesday and then hosted Central Fellowship on Thursday. vs. Trinity
The Eagles jumped out to an early lead as they plated three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Trinity scored one in the top of the second, but three more from Heritage in the bottom of the frame made it 6-1. Trinity came back with two in the fourth and three in the fifth to tie the game at 6-6. They went ahead with three runs in the top of the sixth inning to lead 9-6 over VHA. Heritage did manage a run in the bottom of the sixth, but they couldn't not overcome, and fell 9-7. vs. Central
The Eagles took on the Lancers and the game was still 0-0 through the first three innings. In the top of the fourth the Lancers broke the stalemate and took a 1-0 lead.
Heritage bounced back with five runs in the bottom of the fourth to jump back on top. JT Cofield scored on a wild pitch with the bases loaded to tie the game at 1-1. Jackson Poole drove in two runs and then Hardy Franklin hit a tworun homerun to make the score 5-1.
Heritage added three runs in the fifth and five more in the sixth as they won the game over Central, 13- 3.
This week Heritage was at Sherwood in Albany on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Friday at Memorial Day in Savannah at 4:30 p.m.
