Bulldogs Play Two Games

The Toombs County High School Bulldogs baseball team took on Tattnall County and Appling County last week. The Bulldogs played to a tie against Tattnall County in the nonregion game, and then fell to the Pirates in Baxley on Friday. vs. Tattnall

At the Warriors on Tuesday, Toombs took the early lead with a run in the top of the first inning. Tattnall tied the game in the bottom of the frame at 1-1. Toombs added one more in the second and then three in the top of the third to take a 5-1 lead.

Tattnall came back with five runs in the bottom of the third inning to jump in front, 6-5. Toombs got things going in the top of the fourth as they plated five more runs and took a 10-6 lead.

Tattnall scored three in the fifth and one more in the sixth inning to tie the game at 10-10. Neither team scored in the seventh and the game was called at a tie, 10-10. vs. Appling

At Appling on Friday the Bulldogs struggled at the plate as they fell to the Pirates. Appling got on the board in the second inning with two runs, and added four more in the third to lead 6- 0.

The Pirates put one more run on the board in the sixth inning as they took the win, 7-0.

This week Toombs faced Coffee County on Monday after presstime. They will be back in action on Wednesday as they host Jenkins County at 5:45 p.m.
