ConnectHer to Feature Author Darla Harms
ConnectHer, a Gathering for Women, slated for 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, at the Vidalia Community Center, promises to be both entertaining and enlightening.
Sponsored by the Greater Vidalia Chamber, the event will feature “shopping, sipping and hors d’ouerves,” as well as an inspiring talk by Darla Harms, CEO and Founder of Small Town Girls Play Big, a faith based personal and professional organization for women.
Harms is from Benkelman, a rural community in Western Nebraska. After giving her life to Christ at the age of 18, she began developing a heart to see more spiritual growth in small towns, especially for women. Her desire is to bring a faith-based perspective to the personal and professional development world by helping women incorporate faith in the areas of leadership, business, relationships, finances, and health/wellness. Harms is a certified John Maxwell Coach, Speaker, and Trainer, a trained Mindset Coach with the Arbinger Institute, a certified DISC Behavioral Analyst, and a graduate of Leadership Albany. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English and her master’s degree in Leadership from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Harms serves as a faculty member for the Community Banker’s Association Leadership Academy and a Leadership Instructor for Grace City Church’s School of Ministry. She also serves as the Chairman of the Board for Heritage of Hope, a nonprofit organization in Albany that helps sex trafficking survivors get off the streets, begin recovery, and live the life God has purposed for them. Harms is the author of two books, “Small Town Girls Play Big in Business” and “No Fat Chicks: Overcoming Body Shame and Living in Authenticity.”
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband of 20 years, two teenage sons, reading a good book, going to the beach, and playing with her dogs Lola Rae and Theo the Wonder Dog. ConnectHer tickets are $45 and available by calling 912-537-4466 or by emailing: ambero@greatervidaliachamber. org.
