Mead GCAA Player of the Week

Former Vidalia High School All-State pitcher and shortstop, Landry Mead, was selected as the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) Player of the Week for the week of March 14-20. Mead, a Freshman at East Georgia College, had a .750 batting average, with 9 hits, 2 doubles, 2 stolen bases, and 4 RBI’s in three Bobcat wins in that week. Mead, who leads the conference with a .463 Batting Average and is 2nd in the league with 32 RBI’s, also is 2-1 on the mound on the year and is in the Top 5 in strikeouts with 31.

The 2021 2AA Player of the Year said that College Baseball has been a big change for him. “Being named player of the week is a great honor. College baseball has been a tremendous change for me in so many ways. I can only give credit to the ones who push me day in and day out to become the best version of me I can be.'
