Meadows Celebrates Nurses Week and Hospital Week

May is a busy month for hospitals around the country as they celebrate National Nurses Week (May 6-12) and Hospital Week (May 8-14). Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia hosted several events to celebrate its dedicated colleagues who provide exceptional care for patients in Toombs and surrounding counties.

The highlight was “Meadows Family Night” on Tuesday, May 10, where employees and their families enjoyed food, games, music and fun. During the week, the Meadows Hospital team also celebrated some of the many highlights since joining the HCA Healthcare family.

“I am very proud of the hard work our team has done to implement new processes and systems, we’ve added new equipment, programs and services, all while remaining focused on providing excellent care for our patients and their families,” said Matt Hasbrouck, CEO of Meadows Health.

Some of the accomplishments include: • Persevered through multiple rounds of the most acute pandemic in our lifetime, caring like family and never backing down.

• Invested over $12 million in various equipment, tools, infrastructure, and programs to ensure we have what is needed to provide the very best care to our patients.

• Added or expanded key services such as electrophysiology, robotics, hand surgery, reconstructive plastics and more, thus, keeping care closer to home. Meadows will go live with additional services in the near future.

• Infused over $1.6 million in taxes, as well as, $50,000 in various local charitable partnerships across our community, ensuring Meadows Hospital is a strong and committed neighbor and fellow community member. “This is an absolute testament to this team’s hard work and commitment to our mission and our values – ownership, compassion, and excellence,” said Hasbrouck. “I’m proud to be a part of the Meadows team, and I am excited by what we will achieve together in the future.”
