LRD 8U Boys Win Title

The Lyons Recreation Department 8U boys baseball team fought thei way through the losers' bracket to bring home the State Championship. Lyons kicked off the tournament in Bulloch County with a game against Coffee County. It was a close game but the kids from LRD fell 6-4, sending them to the losers' bracket. Lyons then defeated Bryan County 21-1, beat Sumter County 10-3, and beat Bainbridge 12-4 to move into the semifinals.

Up next was a rematch against Coffee County, and this time Lyons had their number. Lyons picked up the win, 13-2, to advance to the Championship Game to play Camden County. Lyons had to beat the undefeated Camden team twice to win the title, and they did just that. Lyons easily won the first game 16-4 to force a Game 2. In that second game Lyons came out on top 10-4, to win the State Championship.
