Murder Suspect Extradited to Vidalia

The fourth suspect in the murder of Ricky Martin Burkett has been extradited to the Toombs County Detention Center, where he is jailed without bond on felony murder charges. Jeremy Likki Bell, 29, was apprehended on April 20 in Jacksonville, Florida, through the joint efforts of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. He remained in custody in Jacksonville until his extradition on June 27.
Bell was identified by law enforcement as a suspect in the April 5 murder of Burkett, 39, whose body was discovered at the back of a residence at 111 West Jenkins Street in Vidalia.The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Crime Lab confirmed the identity of the body and officially determined the case was a homicide. Bell and three others were named as suspects in the crime.
Prior to this event, Bell was arrested in March on warrants filed in September 2021 and February 2022. He was charged with misdemeanor assault and bat- continued from page
tery, as well as giving a false name, address or date of birth to the police. He was released on bond and was awaiting trial at the time of his second arrest.
Along with Bell, Megan Ann Osborne and Emily Elizabeth Walker remain in custody on charges of felony murder.The women were denied bond. A fourth suspect, Milbern McRae, was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence and felony probation violation. He was placed on a $10,000 property bond at his first appearance in court. Bell was arraigned through a virtual hearing, during which he was denied bond. The trial date has yet to be determined and the motive for the homicide has not been disclosed by police.
