Paul Bean, 51, remains in critical condition at Memorial Hospital in Savannah after sustaining several serious injuries in a motorcycle accident on July 16.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, Bean was travelling east on Fire Tower Road, and had just passed the intersection of the road and Milligan Creek Road, when he lost control of his Harley Davidson motorcycle and exited the roadway. His motorcycle continued forward for another 335 feet while rotating and overturning before coming to rest 32 feet east of the fog line of Fire Tower Road. The motorcycle was facing west upon reaching its final position.
GSP said it is undetermined if Bean was travelling alone or with another group of motorcycles, but one witness, John Williamson, was recorded in the accident report.
Upon emergency response arriving, Bean was transported from the scene by Toombs-Montgomery EMS to be flown to Memorial Hospital in Savannah by AirEvac.
