Lady Crusaders Split Games

It was two losses last week for the Robert Toombs Christian Academy Lady Crusaders softball team as they fell to Trinity Christian and to Pinewood Christian.

RTCA vs. Trinity

It was a close game between RTCA and Trinity, but RTCA came out on the low side of the score. Trinity plated two runs in the bottom of the second inning to take the early lead.

RTCA came back and went on top with three runs in the top of the third inning to go ahead 3-2, but Trinity answered with three runs in the bottom of the frame to take a 5-3 lead.

RTCA couldn't get any more runs across the plate as they fell 5-3.

RTCA vs. Pinewood Meredith Durden was in the circle for RTCA and held in the first inning. In the top of the second inning Morgan Newsome walked, and then an error on a hard hit ball by Railee Thomas put two runners on. Durden loaded the bases with a single, and then a hit by Charlee Ely scored a run to put RTCA on top 1-0.

In the top of the second inning with two runners on base Pinewood got a hit up the middle to put them on top 2-1. Pinewood added a run in the top of the third inning to take a 3-1 lead. RTCA added just one more run in the game as Pinewood took the win, 4-2 over the Crusaders. This week RTCA was at Twiggs Academy on Tuesday after presstime, and will be at home against Bulloch Academy on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
