The Brewton-Parker College wrestling programs have released their schedules for the upcoming season.

Women

The Lady Barons have a total of 14 dates slated for competition with two home events on the schedule. BPC will preview the season on Oct. 27 with the program’s intrasquad. “I am excited about our schedule this year, having scheduled some of the best tournaments around,” Director of Wrestling Devane Dodgens said. “We are excited to be hosting our First Annual Baron Duals Tournament with 13 teams registered.” “Our program has a lot of duals against highlyranked opponents from the NCAA and the NAIA, which should give our ladies a good competitive test,” Dodgens added. “We are excited to continue making jumps and the continual grind to #ShockTheNation.” Last season, Brewton-Parker produced 11 national qualifiers with nine competing in the NAIA National Invitational. India Page led the Lady Barons with a seventh-place finish at 155lbs, earning NAIA All-American Honorable Mention status.

BPC also saw all nine competitors win a match on the national stage. There were a pair of standouts for the Lady Barons in Leidaly Rivera and Alyssa Valdivia, both of which made it to the Round of 12, just one win shy of earning a placement.

Brewton-Parker finished 15th in the NAIA at the National Invitational with 52.5 team points. Off the mat, BPC returns five of the six NWCA NAIA Scholar All-Americans from the 2021-22 season.

Men

The Barons are slated to compete 17 times in the regular season, including six home contests.

“This season we have a great mixture of duals and competitive opens,” Director of Wrestling Devan Dodgens said. “Our schedule begins with some challenging opens that will feature some of the top teams and individuals in the NAIA.”

“We have a great schedule of duals prepped, and I believe this team is ready to make the jump into becoming competitive,” Dodgens added. “We are excited about our new conference, and we are ready to #BurnThe- Boats.” Last season, Brewton-Parker produced an individual conference champion at 184 in Lucas DeSilva. In addition, Dennis McNeal and DeSilva both earned NAIA All-American status in their respective weight classes. The Barons are also returning Joel Faglier, who spent last season battling injuries. Faglier was an NAIA National Qualifier two seasons ago and will be a leader for BPC this season. BPC opens the regular season at the Patriot Open in Williamsburg, Kentucky on Nov. 5. The Barons will preview the season with an Intrasquad Match on Oct. 20. Brewton- Parker is set to join a new conference this season with the Appalachian Athletic Conference. BPC opens conference action at St. Andrews (N.C.) on Dec. 9.
