The Robert Toombs Christian Academy Lady Crusader soccer team clenched another Region win on the road Thursday of last week, defeating David Emanuel Academy.
The team has several players out with injuries and are down to 16 players from the 23 players they started the season with. However, the girls rose to the occasion with leadership from senior Amily Mixon, who scored five goals in the contest. Senior Emmie Lynn also had a goal bringing the total score to 6-0.
This Monday RTCA was on the road at First Preparatory Christian Academy and picked up another big win. RTCA scored five times in the first half of the game and then another four in the second half on the way to a 9-0 victory.
Mixon again led the way, this time with four goals. Kylie Acosta added two, and then Madaline Wolfe, Addie Walden, and Marli Dryden scored one goal each.
The boys also came away with a win as they defeated FPCA 2-1. RTCA scored both of their goals in the first half of the game with FPCA also scoring their only goal in the first half. Aaron Hankerson and Zach Reaves both found the back of the net for RTCA.
