Indians Track At Region

The Vidalia High School Lady Indians fought hard in the Region 3AA Championship Track Meet at Pierce County last week. With a very young team, they managed to come away with some hardware and many qualified for the Sectional Track Meet that will be held May 6, at East Jackson.

Top 4 athletes in each event will move on to the sectional meet as follows: Deidra Boston- 3rd Shot Put, Emma Humphrey-4th Shot Put, Takaiya Bacon-2nd Triple Jump, Dashia Ford-3rd Triple Jump, Takaiya Bacon-3rd Long Jump, Dashia Ford-3rd 100h, and Mischa Wardlaw- 4th 400m.

In the relays: Dashia Ford, Paradyse Jacobs, Kayden Love, J’Miya Hunt-3rd 4x100m relay, Dashia Ford, Mischa Wardlaw, Kayden Love, J’Miya Hunt-2nd 4x200m relay, Hannah Pittman, Takaiya Bacon, Laila Gibbons, Mischa Wardlaw-3rd 4x400m relay.

Coach Mandy Godbee said, “These young ladies have developed beyond what I imagined throughout the season. With no seniors on the team, they have stepped up and created an amazingly competitive atmosphere. They work hard and they know what they have to do to be successful. This is a special team with big things ahead of them.”
