Vidalia Heritage Academy Eagles baseball team secured the victory in the first round of the State Playoff and their spot in the GAPPS State Semi Finals with a best-of-three series win over Holy Ground Baptist Academy.

Greer Posey and Dalton Price were solid on the mound on Monday of last week, as Posey and Price threw a no-hitter to lead VHA past Holy Ground, 8-0 and 18-0.

Posey led things off for the first game, on the pitcher's mound for Heritage. The pitcher lasted seven innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out 12 and walking one. Price earned the victory for the second game on the mound for the Eagles. The right hander allowed zero hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out five and walking zero.

VHA Eagles had some big bats during the two games, with Ledger Curl leading the way with two home runs on the day. The Eagles tallied up a total of 31 hits over the two games. VHA was also sure-handed in the second game and didn't commit a single error.

Eagles Head Coach Seth Sitzman said, “It was a great experience to win the first two playoff games and at our newly finished facility. We still have a long way to go, but this is definitely a confidence booster.”

This week the Eagles are in the State Semi Finals against Peachtree Academy. VHA will host the series with games starting at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
