Robert Toombs Names Top Crusaders in Class of 2023

The Robert Toombs Christian Academy (RTCA) Class of 2023 Crusaders celebrated their accomplishments and awards during the annual Honors Night on Tuesday, May 9, where the valedictorian, salutatorian, and honor graduates were first announced.
Kate Kennedy was named the school’s valedictorian, as Andrew Tuck received the salutatorian honors. Other honor graduates were Nicole Acosta, Dawson Pinckard, Mary Claire Wolfe, Addie Thompson, Adria Cuevas-Ortes, Britton Botelho, Amily Mixon, and Abbie Bishop.
Juniors Cole Masterman- Smith, Emmie Davis, Caroline Thompson, and Ava Kate Bomkamp will serve as junior ushers during graduation ceremonies.
Highest Averages Several seniors were honored with awards for having the highest average in various subjects. Those awards were: Highest Average in
AP Literature and Composition – Kate Kennedy Highest Average in College Prep British Literature – Josiah Meek Highest Average in Consumer Math – Dawson Pinckard, Amily Mixon, Addie Thompson (tie) Highest Average in Economics – Kate Kennedy Highest Average in American Government – Kate Kennedy Highest Average for twelfth grade Biology II – Dawson Pinckard Highest Average for AP Chemistry – Kate Kennedy Headmaster’s List and Honor Roll Kate Kennedy was recognized for upholding an average of 95 or above throughout the year, as she was named to the Yearly Headmaster’s List.
Nicole Acosta, Adria Cuevas-Ortes, Emmie Lynn, Amily Mixon, Dawson Pinckard, Addie Thompson, and Andrew Tuck were all honored for their work to keep averages of 90 or above all year, which earned them Yearly Honor Roll.
Other Awards
Committed Crusaders
Britton Botelho, Amily Mixon, Hanna Nichols, Zachary Reaves, Andrew Tuck, and Mary Claire Wolfe received recognition for their dedication to the school, as all six students have attended RTCA since K-3.
Students of the Month
Several seniors were honored for their achievement of Student of the Month throughout the year. Those students were Bradlan McDonald – August; Addie Thompson – September; Emmie Lynn – October; Abbie Bishop – December; Sebastian Holmes – January; Amily Mixon – February; and Carston Tapley – April.
Athlete of the Year
Nicole Acosta was named Female Academic Athlete of the Year, while Andrew Tuck received the Male Academic Athlete of the Year. JaShaun Powell was also named Male Athlete of the Year.
Good Citizenship
Addie Thompson received the Good Citizenship award.
