BPC Announces Soccer Schedules

Brewton-Parker College's soccer teams have announced their 2023 slate of games ahead of the upcoming campaign featuring a total of 18 games on tap with three new opponents in conference play.

Women

The Lady Barons will kick off the 2023 season with a pair of exhibition matches before the regular season on August 22. Brewton- Parker has a total of 16 regular season matchups slated for this season with ten Southern State Athletic Conference competitions scheduled.

A pair of exhibition matches will get things started for Brewton-Parker as the Lady Barons are scheduled to take on South Carolina State on August 12 as well as Erskine (S.C.) on August 19. BPC will open the regular season by hosting Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) on August 24 before taking on Southeastern (Fla.) on the road on August 30.

The Lady Barons are set to face four opponents that closed out last season appearing in the final regular season Top 25 poll. All four are SSAC opponents with William Carey (Miss.) as well as UT Southern (Tenn.) making Quarterfinals appearances at the 2022 NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship final site.

Brewton-Parker is set to open SSAC play on September 14 against Faulkner (Ala.) in Mount Vernon before the first conference road test at Dalton State on September 20. Three new opponents have been added to the SSAC with Point (Ga.), Thomas (Ga.), and UT Southern (Tenn.) joining the league.

Last season, BPC finished with a 4-11-1 overall record and a 1-6-1 record in Southern States Athletic Conference action. “The coaching staff is very excited for the beginning of the season,” Head Coach Phillip Borde expressed.

“We have an eager group coming in that is ready to hit the ground running which always makes us as coaches excited to get back on the field,” Borde added. “Last season we left a lot of incomplete performances on the pitch and the program is eager to have a proper showing this season. I believe it is going to be a fun year.”

Men

The Barons are closing in on the 2023 season with a pair of exhibition matches before kicking off the regular season on August 22. Brewton-Parker has a total of 18 regular season matchups slated for this season with ten Southern State Athletic Conference competitions scheduled.

A pair of exhibition matches will get things started for Brewton-Parker as the Barons are scheduled to take on USC Salkehatchie (S.C.) on August 15 as well as Trinity Baptist (Fla.) on August 19. BPC will open the regular season by hosting Johnson (Fla.) on August 22 before following up with Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) on August 24.

The Barons are set to face five opponents that closed out last season listed in the final regular season Top 25 poll. Four of the five are SSAC opponents with Mobile (Ala.) making back-to-back National Championship match appearances alongside two others in Dalton State (Ga.) and William Carey (Miss.), who also made final site appearances.

“We’re really excited and optimistic about what the 2023 season holds for the Barons,” Neumann added. “My staff and players have been working very hard to make sure that we’re in a good position to make a positive move for the upcoming campaign.”
