Frederica Over RTCA
The Robert Toombs Christian Academy Crusaders were in St. Simons last Friday night to take on the Knights of Frederica Academy. It was a tough game for RTCA as they fell to Frederica, 42-21.
Frederica got on the board first as they scored on a 5-yard run with just over three minutes left in the first quarter of the game. They added the PAT for a 7-0 lead.
They pushed that lead to 14-0 early in the second quarter on a short touchdown run. RTCA answered with seven minutes left in the first half on an 11-yard touchdown pass. The Crusaders added the extra point to make it 14-7.
With two minutes to play in the first half, the Knights found the end zone again, this time on a 7-yard run. They made the point after to go ahead 21-7. That was how the first half ended.
In the second half, RTCA again scored to close back in on Frederica. With eight minutes on the clock in the third quarter they scored on a big 84yard run by David Hill. RTCA made the extra point to make it 21-14.
Frederica was back on the board with four minutes left in the third on a 10-yard run to increase the lead to 28-14. They added another touchdown as the third quarter came to an end to hold a 35-14 lead.
In the fourth, Frederica scored one more touchdown to pull ahead to a 42-14 lead. The Crusaders did get in one more time late in the game to make the final score 4221.
Hill led RTCA with 120 yards rushing on the night.
This week RTCA will be at Edmund Burke Academy with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. in Waynesboro. RTCA is now 4-3 on the season.
