On Tuesday of last week Robert Toombs Christian Academy senior, Arlie Gooden, signed her letter of intent to continue her softball career at Emmanuel University. She will take her talents to Franklin Springs to play for the Lions.

Gooden said, “I am excited and thankful for this opportunity. I couldn’t have done it without my family, teammates, and all my coaches. I chose Emmanuel College because of the small atmosphere, and you can tell everybody is close together and it feels like a family. I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”

RTCA Head Coach Brian Fitzgerald stated, “Her family is great, and I have a close relationship with her grandfather Mark McDaniel and knew him from when she was in Middle School. She has really developed into a player that has a lot of the tools that you need to be successful. Emmanuel College is getting a player that not only has all the talent but also has the character and work ethic both on the field and in the classroom.”
