Parker’s Gives Back to Vidalia City Schools
Parkers Kitchen presented the Vidalia City School System with a check of 2350.00 on Tuesday afternoon at the Board Office. The check was part of Parkers' 'Fueling the Community' program, which helps raise funds for local schools. Vidalia City Schools Superintendent Dr. Garrett Wilcox, who received the check from Parker's Chief of Staff Kate Smith, said he is grateful for Parkers' contribution to the system. 'I really appreciate the efforts of Parkers, who continue to show their support in education for not only our schools but also across the southeast. And of course, we are thankful for all the customers who have chosen our schools for their donation.'
Parkers' Fueling the Community program allows PumpPal Debit members to choose a local school who will receive 1 cent of every gallon of gas pumped on the first Wednesday of each month. Launched in 2011 with a mission to give back to every community where Parker's does business, the Parker's Fueling the Community charitable initiative distributes more than $200,000 annually to public and private schools throughout Georgia and South Carolina. To date, Parker's has donated more than $1 million to area schools through the program. ( parkerskitchen.com).
