BPC Wrestling In Preseason Poll

Wrestling season is just around the corner as a pair of preseason polls were released on Thursday for the Brewton-Parker College Men’s Wrestling program.
The Barons appear in the Receiving Votes section of the NAIA Preseason Coaches’ Top 20 Poll and were picked to finish eighth in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Preseason Poll, officials have announced.
Wilkinson Saul leads the program with the first individual ranking of the season with his 22nd placement in the 285-lb weight class, earning 21 points. As a team, BPC earned a total of six voting points to land in the Receiving Votes section of the poll.
As for the AAC poll, BPC landed two points behind Truett McConnell (Ga.) who earned 52 points for seventh in the poll. Life (Ga.) earned the top spot in the poll with 120 points and 10 firstplace votes followed by Southeastern (Fla.) in second with 110 points.
Reinhardt (Ga.) landed third (100 points) in the poll with Keiser (Fla.) in fourth (89 points) and St. Thomas (Fla.) in fifth (77 points). Montreat (N.C.) earned sixth (70 points) with TMU and BPC just behind.
The bottom of the poll holds West Virginia Tech in 10th (33 points), Pikeville (Ky.) in 11th (25 points), and Bluefield (Va.) in 12th (16 points).
Brewton-Parker is now set and prepping to open the season at the Cumberlands (Ky.) Patriot Open in Williamsburg, Ky., on November 4.
