TCHS And VHS At Sweet Onion Invitational

The Toombs County High School Bulldogs wrestling team hosted the Sweet Onion Invitational last week with 24 teams in attendance for the event. Both Toombs and Vidalia had good showings at the event with Toombs taking 8th place and the Indians coming in 7th.
TCHS
For the Bulldogs in the finals matches, Dabvn Wadley took first place at 150 lbs., with Slade Landrum coming in third place at that weight. Both wrestlers won their final match by pin. Michale Jones finished in fifth place at 157 lbs. by a 5-4 decision. Gailan Wilds took third place at 165 lbs. with a pin.
Hayden Roy was sixth at 190 lbs. falling in a close 6-4 match. Dakota Malone was sixth at 215 lbs. losing his finals match by pin.
For the girls Kylee Edwards took third at 100105 lbs., Jasmine Villegas was first at 115 lbs., and Corneisha Bullard came in first at 170 lbs.
Vidalia
For the Indians at the Sweet Onion, they had Myikel Johnson take third place at 113 lbs. by technical fall. Ronald Pointer was second at 175 lbs. losing the title in a close 10-8 decision. Andre Jackson was fifth at 175 lbs. Jack Godbee took first place at 190 lbs. winning by technical fall. Stephen Cheeks took first place at 285 lbs. winning by pin.
For the Lady Indians Samyri Dixon was second at 135-140 lbs., Jalyric Jones was second at 190 lbs., and Zakhia White was second at 235 lbs.
Both teams will be back in action this weekend at Toombs County High School on Saturday for the Area Meet.
