Affordable Health Care

So much is said today about Affordable Health Care (AHC), which is really anoxymoron. Health care may be affordable to someone that has millions, or billions, of dollars, but to the average person it is never affordable. Of course, I almost forgot – it’s also affordable to those folks that are on Medicaid and their kids that are on Peach-Care, which is all paid for with our taxes.

I can actually tell you what AHC is for the average person, because I’m old enough to remember when health insurance was not available. In 1949, when I was just a little “whippersnapper,” I regularly endured fever and aches/ pains in my joints and other places. At that time, Doctor Aiken in Lyons, GA, ran tests on my body and diagnosed that I was suffering from the early stages of Rheumatic Fever. A Fluoroscope exam of my chest indicated that my heart was greatly enlarged.

The doctor said my tonsils were infected and they were at the root of my problems. He told my parents that my tonsils should be removed as soon as possible. He also told them what the operation and hospital care would cost. My parents immediately started saving money for the operation. As soon as they had the funds available, they notified the doctor and the operation was scheduled.

The operation was a success, and it all happened without any insurance or state and federal tax money involved. Much different than today, when our former President Obama, who continued from page

was forcing a dose of health insurance (aka: Obamacare) down our throats. His plan would even penalize those that decide they don’t want it. The folks that don’t want it — just want to do as my parents did and put back enough money to pay for health care. Of course, and I’ve heard this said by others – there has not been any mention of how much good health care costs today. As I’m sure you know, doctors, hospitals and pharmacy costs are all outrageous.

So if someone refused to buy Obamacare – they would have to pay the penalty and go to an Emergency Room at a hospital when they need medical care. Of course, that cost will be paid by taxpayers. As I said earlier, the only ones that won’t have that problem are the people on Med i c a i d / Peac h – Care, which is paid for by taxpayers, or old enough to have

Medicare. Thomas Jefferson said,

“The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those that are willing to work and give to those who would not.” He also said, “To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.”

After reading that last quote and considering all that is happening today, Obamacare was a disaster. I thank the Lord every day for President Trump, for he has fulfilled every promise he made before the election, and I also thank the Lord that Hillary did not win because it would have been more of the same with Obama. But Trump is held back because of the useless and godless Democrats in the house and the Senate. It is very clear that we are being governed by a Congress of godless Democrats. I just hope we don’t forget that when we go to the polls to vote in November 2020.
